Fable 3 Review

Posted by nexonman - November 14th, 2010

Well, here's the bottom line: Fable 3 is a great adventure to partake on, and not to ruin the ending, its pretty badass! But unfortunately, there are more bads than goods here.
Bads
1) WAAAAAAAAAAY too damn short (especially the reign as king)
2) very confusing at times
3) difficulty finding shops
4) very laggy and glitchy
5) hardly any weapons, guns, or spells
6) cant fast travel to a specific location
Goods
1) combat is great
2) plenty of fun and weird objectives
3) attire customization is wholesome

To me, it just seems Lionhead half-assed this game, if I could give out a recommendation, it would be not to waste the money, get Black Ops instead.

Fable 3 Review

Comments

It's okay. Fable 2 was better, and Fable 1 was better than Fable 2. It was a slight annoyance on Fable 3 that when you pressed the start button, instead of taking you to the start menu immediately, it took you to this room where you then had to walk over to this thing, press A, hit game management, then save. Maybe it's just me, but that became pretty annoying pretty fast. I also don't like how when you hit A to interact with somebody, it went into a cut scene of sorts. On Fable 2, you just brought up a menu, chose the expression you wanted to do, pressed A, and it did it. Another thing is now you had to hold A on EVERYTHING, I understand it's to remove accidentally pressing the wrong button, but it seems like you had to hold the button for 3 seconds, which became annoying after spending 3+ hours playing it.

Another thing I really didn't like about it is how they took out the experience points to buy upgrades, use to you just fought enemies until you had enough experience to upgrade, and you got experience every enemy you killed too. I mean, you still get points towards your next upgrade for killing an enemy, but you have to kill several for a single point. Maybe it's kind of stupid not to like that, but I don't. Also, on the subject of upgrades, on Fable 1 and 2 you got bigger in size when you upgraded, and I always thought that was really cool, and on Fable 3, that doesn't happen. Maybe it's because you're a prince, and I guess all Prince's are suppose to be wimpy homosexuals.

On Fable 3, it also seems like the choice of Good and Evil is a lot less important. If you're really good or Evil, and you hold X (The attack button) it shows that you have wings, and the colour of them change weather you're good or evil. On Fable 1 and 2, it was an obvious side effect, your eyes would glow and you would grow horns, if you were evil, and if you were good you would have a halo and I believe your eyes grew white. And you could always see that, it's not just when you charged your attack, like it is on Fable 3. Maybe people complained about it though, in all honesty it was kind of annoying having horns on Fable 1 and 2, because it was just unattractive.

Anyways, this response is long enough. In short, Fable 3 is a good game.
